LSU and Arkansas football played a tight game on Saturday afternoon as the game went down to the wire. What’d we learn?

It took almost three full quarters, but with just over a minute left in the third, Arkansas scored to go ahead 21-20, taking its second lead of the game. The Tigers were leading in the second and third quarters, but Arkansas finally got over that hump.

The battle for “The Boot” didn’t disappoint this season even thought Myles Brennan was out for LSU as TJ Finley played well to keep the Tigers afloat.

Arkansas looked like it would hold on for a win, but a late touchdown by LSU gave the Tigers a 27-24 lead and the Razorbacks missed a potential game-tying field goal with just over a minute left.

What’d we learn from this exciting SEC battle?

3. Jalen Catalon is going to be a star

With the improvement on the defensive side of the ball for Arkansas this season, one guy has risen to the top: Jalen Catalon.

The freshman safety was in the middle of a career game for this defense, recording 16 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss when his game was cut short about six minutes too early due to a controversial targeting call that seemed to be incorrect. It was reviewed and confirmed but even the broadcasters disagreed with it.

Coming into this game, Catalon was third on the team with 70 total tackles and he led the Razorbacks with three interceptions and four pass deflections.

Unfortunately, he’s going to miss the first half of next game but he’s having himself an All-SEC caliber season and he’s going to be a star for years to come in Fayetteville.
