2. Tyler Allgeier will be a Heisman candidate in 2021

Zach Wilson may be the lone Heisman Trophy candidate on BYU for this season, but come 2021, the Cougars could have two (that’s if Wilson returns). Tyler Allgeier is one of the best running backs in the country and arguably the best outside the Power Five this season and he continues to prove that week in and week out.

On Saturday, he rushed for another 141 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. On the season, he has 851 yards and 11 touchdowns on 118 carries.

If BYU is going to continue to compete for a spot in the New Year’s Six, the Cougars need Allgeier to continue his dominant play in the run game. He is a load to bring down, standing 5-11 and 220 pounds and he has excellent vision and a feel for the game.

Wilson’s job has been so much easier this season because of Allgeier and if that continues, the Cougars are going to be in the running for a playoff spot.
