1. Don Brown’s clock is ticking

My No. 1 takeaway in this one was going to be “this team finally showed some fight in the second half” which I still totally believe, but this one seems much more important.

Watching Michigan’s defense this season has almost been jaw-dropping — in the worst possible way. The Wolverines have always had stingy defenses under Don Brown and Jim Harbaugh. That had been a strength of this team for years, outside of the yearly Ohio State loss, but man, things have gotten ugly on that side of the ball for Michigan.

And fans are calling for Brown’s job.

The once-beloved defensive coordinator who had been considered for head coaching jobs over the years has gone from hero to zero. Fans want him out, Harbaugh is running out of excuses to keep him around and he just delivered yet another ugly performance against a perennial bottom-dweller in Rutgers.

Michigan’s secondary can’t seem to guard a parked car right now as they were torched for over 300 yards yet again as Noah Vedral looked like a Heisman candidate for a week.

The clock is ticking on Brown in Ann Arbor. This could be his last season with the Wolverines.
