2. USC’s defense was opportunistic

The USC defense played a heck of game. The Trojans defense may have given up 335 total yards, but what was more impressive was the turnovers they produced against Utah.

USC’s defense forced two fumbles and three interceptions against the Utes. The Trojan defense was causing havoc all night, and for the most part always seemed like they were disrupting a play and making it tough against Utah.

How did the game end? It ended with a Utah turnover which was their fifth of the night. A perfect ending to cap off how well USC played on defense.

It should also be pointed out that USC’s defense only gave up 10 points as a unit as well. USC’s offense fumbled and it was recovered by Utah for a touchdown to result in seven points.

An opportunistic defense can be championship-worthy.
