Big 12

  • Offensive Player of the Week: Oklahoma’s quarterback Spencer Rattler who threw for over 300 yards with four touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He also ran for a touchdown leading the Sooners to a rivalry win over No. 14 Oklahoma State.
  • Defensive Player of the Week:  Iowa State linebacker Mike Rose had an interception and was the Cyclones’ second-leading tackler in their shutout win over Kansas State. Rose had seven total tackles in the game with four of them being solo and one of them being a sack and he also had a quarterback hurry.
  • Special Teams Player of the Week: Oklahoma’s Reeves Mundschau had three punts for a total of 154 yards giving him an average of 51.3 yards. His outstanding punting gave Oklahoma State poor field position all game with the Cowboys gaining no yards in punt returns.

SEC

  • Offensive Player of the Week: Georgia’s Jermaine Burton is not only a true freshman but also a big-time receiver in the SEC and when the Bulldogs needed someone to step up, he did. With Georgia losing 17-10, Burton caught an 18-yard touchdown pass to tie the game. Then, with the scored tied, he came up huge again with a 48-yard touchdown reception to give Georgia the lead. He ended the game with just short of 200 yards in catches as he had a total of 197 receiving.
  • Defensive Player of the Week: Auburn defensive back Smoke Monday returned an interception 100 yards in a three-point game for a touchdown. He also had four tackles, one pass deflection and one quarterback hurry, helping the Tigers to a 30-17 victory over Tennessee.
  • Special Teams Player of the Week: Auburn kicker Anders Carlson was perfect on the day, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts as well his three extra point attempts. He directly contributed to 12 of the Tigers’ points and one of his three field goals was a 50-yarder.

Pac-12

  • Offensive Player of the Week: Oregon State running back Jermar Jefferson rushed for nearly 200 yards, leading the Beavers to their first win of the season in a four-point victory over Cal. He on only 18 carries and had 196 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Bears.
  • Defensive Player of the Week: Oregon safety Jordan Happle had an amazing game, helping the Ducks defeat UCLA. He led all defenders with 11 tackles with six of them being solo. His biggest impact on the game was when Oregon was trailing 21-17 in the second quarter and he returned an interception 58 yards for a touchdown to give the Ducks the lead.
  • Special Teams Player of the Week: USC kicker Parker Lewis helped the Trojans beat Utah. Only a freshman, he made all four of his field goal attempts as well as connecting on all three of his extra point attempts. His longest field goal of the game was a 47-yarder and he contributed to 15 of USC’s points in its victory. Only one of his three made field goals was less than 30 yards as well.
