This week in ACC football land, most teams were off but there was still some controversy between Clemson and Florida State.

The ACC had a fairly light week. Much of the conference was off this week. Two games were not played. Duke versus Wake Forest was canceled due to COVID-19-related issues. Clemson vs. Florida State was postponed this week as well. There was a bit of controversy surrounding this game. A Clemson reserve player tested positive on Friday, and the medical staff for FSU and Clemson could not agree on whether or not to play, so the game is postponed.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney did not think this was a case of COVID-19.
“If the standard to play was zero positive tests, then we would have never had a season,” Swinney told reporters on his weekly teleconference. “This game was not canceled because of COVID. COVID was just an excuse to cancel the game. To be honest with you, I don’t think it has anything to do with their players. I do not doubt that their players wanted to play and would have played. Same with the coaches. To me, the Florida State administration forfeited the game.”
That was the most dramatic occurrence in the conference this week.
Syracuse is still awful, NC State survived against the Liberty Flames and the Virginia Tech Hokies are in complete free fall.
Here is a closer look at this week’s ACC power rankings.
