2. Adrian Martinez is Nebraska’s QB moving forward

Would it be Luke McCaffrey or would it be Adrian Martinez? After a shaky performance from the former last weekend in a loss to Illinois, it seemed like Martinez was the clear choice even though Scott Frost wanted to utilize both of his quarterbacks.

The talent is there for both guys.

But the starter moving forward has to be Martinez. He’s the veteran quarterback on the roster and he was once expected to be the future of this program but a lack of serious progress after a strong freshman season really forced people to give up on him.

Even this year, he struggled a bit which led to the Cornhuskers’ slow start, but he took over for McCaffrey last week and played well. He played well again on Friday to keep Nebraska in the game.

Martinez finished with 174 passing yards on 90 percent completions and 28 rushing yards and a touchdown. McCaffrey had 21 passing yards and 42 rushing yards.

Moving forward, Martinez has to be the guy.
