1. Business per usual as Alabama is looking like the consensus favorite

There may have been questions in the coaching battle as to whether Auburn could get some sort of upper hand early in the game. Regardless of Nick Saban on the sidelines or not, it would not matter. Alabama looked like the more dominate team and the much more talented team on the field.

In a year full of uncertainty, the most sure handed thing was Alabama’s dominance and ability to dominate. The Crimson Tide give up just 118 rushing yards per game and rank in the top 20 in points per game against. The one slip up defensively was against Ole Miss, where they still won that game by two touchdowns.

All of the other playoff contenders have a hurdle to go through with Notre Dame and Clemson colliding. Even with Florida beating Alabama, the Tide should still hold strong in the playoff. The other candidates would be an Ohio State or a dark horse in Cincinnati.

Alabama has cruised through their schedule so much that they can afford to lose a game and still make the playoff with rather ease. With Jones, Harris, and Smith all being finalist for their national awards, there isn’t many better times to be a fan of the Crimson Tide.

Add in the youth that played excellent on defense and this factory of exquisite aptitude football program will continue to dominate the best conference in college football.
