3. No Chuba, no problem

This is not the season that Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard anticipated. After a 2,000-yard season in 2019, Hubbard has not put up the numbers anticipated coming into this season. Hubbard has been hampered by injuries most of the season, including this game. Hubbard missed today’s game with a leg injury.

Apparently, no one told the Cowboys they should not be able to run the ball without Hubbard. The Cowboys ran for 317 yards in this game. What makes this so impactful is Hubbard was injured for this game, LD Brown was out due to injuries in this game. Reserve running back Dezmon Jackson and quarterback Spencer Sanders shouldered the load for the running game.

Jackson ran for 235 yards, and Sanders ran for 78 yards. The Oklahoma State offensive line opened gaping holes all game long for the Cowboys. Many of these rushes were not grind it out yards either. The Pokes got what they wanted all game long, with Jackson not getting touched until he hit the second level most of the game.
