Ole Miss Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Mississippi State in Week 13

Mississippi State and Ole Miss football will meet for the annual Egg Bowl and this might be even more exciting than last year’s thriller.

The Egg Bowl has been a Thanksgiving weekend tradition for years and this one has some added intrigue with Lane Kiffin leading Ole Miss and Mike Leach in charge of Mississippi State.

Those are two smart, yet quirky and outspoken, minds in charge of both Mississippi schools and that’s just going to ramp up the rivalry, beginning on Saturday afternoon in Oxford. But this time, Ole Miss will be looking for revenge after losing last season’s Egg Bowl in shocking fashion.

Both of these teams have losing records with Mississippi State at 2-5 and Ole Miss at 3-4, but one has been much more competitive this season — and it’s been the Rebels.

What could we see take place on Saturday?

3. Elijah Moore has 200 yards receiving

Three times this season, Elijah Moore has accounted for over 200 yards receiving. A case could be made for him being the best wide out in college football and it’d honestly be tough to argue that although guys like DeVonta Smith and Tylan Wallace would have something to say.

Moore has been a nightmare for opposing defensive backs and it’s not often you hear about a receiver posting three 200-yard games and two more 100-yard games in seven outings.

But Moore is built different.

The junior wide out will have a field day against a mediocre Mississippi State secondary which allows over 250 passing yards per game. He’s going to catch 10 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday afternoon.
