2. Matt Corral passes for 400 yards

What an interesting year it’s been for Matt Corral. He came into the season fighting for the starting job with John Rhys Plumlee, but it’s been rather clear that he gives this team the best chance to win.

Corral looks like an elite passer, but he has a tough time managing his turnovers, throwing nine interceptions in seven games, but eight of those came in a two-game stretch against Arkansas and Auburn. You take out those two games and Corral has 19 touchdowns with just one interception in the middle of a career year. He would also have just over 2,000 yards.

But even with those two ugly games, Corral has 2,359 yards and 22 touchdowns with a completion rate of 74 and the fourth-best QBR in the nation.

That’s going to carry over into this year’s Egg Bowl against a mediocre Mississippi State secondary.

Corral is going to pass for over 400 yards for the third straight game and Elijah Moore’s 200-yard performance is going to help matters. He may even approach 500 against Mike Leach’s Mississippi State squad.
