2. Matt Corral is an elite passer

In case there was any doubt after he went through that rough stretch a few weeks ago, Matt Corral has proven himself as an elite passer for the Rebels.

Actually, he’s one of the best all-around quarterbacks in the country and that’s a surprise to everyone outside of Oxford. There were even some fans in Oxford who felt like John Rhys Plumlee should have been the starting quarterback this season because of his ability to run with the ball, but Corral has done enough of that to make up for the lost yardage on the ground.

Corral only had 10 rushing yards on Saturday as the Bulldogs contained him on the ground but he completed 24-for-36 passes for 385 yards and two touchdowns.

After throwing eight interceptions in a two-game span, he has 12 touchdowns with no picks and he’s completing over 81 percent of his passes. This kid is elite.
