OK, so this rivalry hasn’t exactly been dead, but with new coaching staffs on each side of the field, there’s new life that has been injected into it.
Last year’s game was exciting as it ended in arguably the wildest fashion imaginable and you can bet Elijah Moore felt responsible for it, but he bounced back and exacted revenge with a 12-catch, 139-yard performance.
This year’s game was every bit as exciting despite Ole Miss holding a comfortable lead early on before Mississippi State cut it to seven at halftime. Mississippi State cut it to three in the fourth and Ole Miss responded three minutes later to essentially put the game away.
But Mississippi State had a chance to tie it with a few minutes left but the drive fizzled out and Ole Miss held on for a thrilling win.
