Texas A&M football knocked off LSU 20-7, moving to a strong 6-1 on the season. What did we learn about the Aggies from this matchup?

The Aggies have been off for a couple of weeks due to COVID-19 contact tracing, but they got back in action against LSU tonight. It was a disgusting matchup if you like offense, but if you like defense, this was the game for you.

What did we learn about the Aggies in this matchup against the Tigers of LSU?

3. This team still deserves to be in the playoff conversation

Yes, this was a bad day for the offense and we will discuss that in the rest of this article. However, they still held a shut out against an SEC team until the final minutes of play and played a strong game defensively.

They still have a win over Florida and strong, dominating wins on their resume with a chance to add to it versus Ole Miss, Tennessee and Auburn.

In my opinion, until the Aggies lose a game — which may or may not happen — they still deserve to be in that conversation. Alabama is in at this point and I don’t see anyone beating them anytime soon.

However, a lot can happen with the other three spots and the Aggies have been just as good as anyone in the nation at times and deserve the chance to prove themselves on the nation’s biggest stage.
