Loser: Oregon (Down to No. 21)

Oregon is a big loser this weekend because they were carrying the Pac-12’s playoff hopes all by themselves and now that hope is gone.

Oregon’s defense has taken a big step back from where they were a year ago, and to be fair, the Ducks have dealt with a lot of opt outs on that side of the ball and are working with a brand new offensive line.

Still, it has to be disappointing for Ducks fans to see some of their larger hopes dashed and it had to come at the hands of a big rival.

Loser: Northwestern (Down to No. 16)

Northwestern’s playoff campaign ended just as soon as it got started.

The Wildcats got down big early to Michigan State and the offense just could not recover. That has been the biggest indictment of Northwestern this season, that while the defense is a really elite unit, the offense is just not good enough to take Northwestern seriously.

Northwestern is still having a great season, especially given how bad they were last year, but it still is disappointing that they lost after getting such a big win over Wisconsin last week.
