Nebraska Football: 3 Bold predictions vs Purdue in Week 14
Nebraska football travels to Purdue for the second straight year, can Scott Frost and company finally get back into the win column.
The season hasn’t gone as planned for Nebraska football but the Huskers showed last week against Iowa that they aren’t quitting on head coach Scott Frost.
But in a strange quirk on the schedule, Nebraska football will be on the road again this week traveling to Purdue for the second straight year.
Despite the poor record, Frost doesn’t have to worry about being on the hot seat as athletic direction Bill Moos came out and said, “He will be here as long as I’m here.”
That’s a pretty strong endorsement for a 1-4 coach, as well as one that is headed towards his third consecutive losing season. But one thing playing in his favor is the fact that Nebraska nearly defeated Iowa last week and had some moments in a heartbreaking loss.
Quarterback Adrian Martinez played well and completed 18-of-20 passes and until he fumbled late, you almost thought he would pull off the late comeback.
It didn’t happen though and that’s been the story of the Frost years. Outside of beating Michigan State a couple of years ago, Nebraska’s best performances have been close calls against Ohio State and Iowa. That’s not really what you want on your resume.
As far as the Boilermakers are concerned, things have not gone well since winning their first two games and last week, they fell to Rutgers, 37-30.
So both teams are looking for a win and at least in the case of Purdue, a winning season is still a possibility, as well as potentially a bowl game if the Boilers can win out.
At any rate, it should be a fun game and here are three bold predictions for the Huskers.
