Nebraska Football: 3 Bold predictions vs Purdue in Week 14
Nebraska wins on the road
One of the most baffling stats of Scott Frost’s tenure with Nebraska football is that the Huskers have only won one game away from home during his three years, which came last season at Maryland.
But, the Huskers have actually played decently on the road, they just haven’t been able to finish. There was a 21-13 loss to Northwestern earlier this season, as well as a loss to Ohio State that at least featured a solid start. The loss to Iowa was another battle and in fact, the last two Iowa games have been close.
Nebraska also dropped a game at Purdue by four points last season. The Huskers are right on the cusp and winning this game would be a significant thing for Frost and company as he tries to rebuild this program.
The Huskers have been at their best under Frost when Martinez has been healthy and playing well. McCaffrey does add a physical presence in the running game and even though the defense is going to have a tough time stopping Purdue, if it can continue the recent turnover trend, that should be enough to allow Nebraska to grab the win.
The Huskers have turned the ball over 2.4 times per game this season and it’s been a killer time and time again. But eventually, Nebraska will that fix problem and find a way to win the road.
It will be a shootout and the Huskers will give up lots of yards to Rondale Moore and David Bell, but somehow, they will find a way.
Final score: Nebraska 34, Purdue 31
