2. While Spiller is great, Devon Achane deserves credit this week.

Isaiah Spiller finished with over 100 yards, specifically 120 yards on 20 tries. He didn’t score this week but was important in the Aggies’ overall offensive game plan. However, let’s talk about freshman Devon Achane and how he was an extremely game-changing player throughout the game.

Achane was a surprising addition during this game, at least for me. He hasn’t seen a lot of playing time, sitting behind Spiller and Ainias Smith, but he got to really show what he could do this week and he showed up and showed out on a high level.

He finished with 99 yards on nine carries and that is something that should be celebrated. His big gains were huge on quite a few drives that ended in touchdowns for the Aggies.

Look for Achane to get involved more and more as the season rounds itself out against Ole Miss (hopefully) and Tennessee. If anything, he deserves a helmet sticker from this one, as does his offensive line that did exactly what was expected of them and won almost every time in the trenches.
