Alabama football’s offense came to Baton Rouge with fireworks and dominated LSU en route to a 55-17 victory.

In 2011, Alabama played LSU two times once in the regular season and once in the National Championship game. Both of those games combined for 36 points. Today, Alabama had 45 points against LSU in the first half.

It is truly insane how far we have come in such a short period of time. But the identity of Alabama football is now a high powered offense. Don’t worry they can still play defense too, just ask TJ Finley who had a rough night in Baton Rouge.

This game got away from the Tigers early on, as they allowed Alabama to score on their first 7 possessions of the game. LSU fought back, even getting the deficit down to just 14 points early in the second quarter.

Mac Jones would then go on to lead Alabama on a 27-3 run to close out the game, and send the Crimson Tide to yet another SEC Championship.

The offensive production came from mainly three players on the Crimson Tide. Mac Jones finished 20 for 28 with 379 yards and 4 touchdowns, while not getting sacked once. Najee Harris and Devonta Smith combined for 376 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Yes, you read that right, those are numbers for two players in one game. Simply outrageous production from an Alabama offense that continues to shine.

For LSU, yet another disappointing game in a season that cannot end soon enough. This was the fourth time in 2020 in which LSU allowed 40+ points. This comes after a season in which it fielded what some argued was the greatest college football team of all time.

The majority of those players are gone, and Ed Orgeron needs to get back to the drawing board to sustain the future of LSU.

With both teams trending in different directions, what did we learn?
