After a slow start, Clemson football eventually pulled away with a decisive win against Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. What did we learn? Let’s dive in.

It was a tale of two halves for Clemson football Saturday night. The first half was not the prettiest for the Tigers, but they looked very impressive in the second half in their 45-10 victory.

Clemson went into halftime only winning by seven with the score being 17-10. In the second half, the Tigers put up 28 points on offense, and the Clemson defense did not allow Virginia Tech to score at all.

Virginia Tech came into this game extremely short handed, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Have to give Virginia Tech credit for battling against the Tigers. The box score will not show it, but Virginia Tech was in this game up until the third quarter. Just about halfway through the third quarter it was still only a one score game. Then the wheels fell off for the Hokies.

With the win tonight Clemson has officially clinched a ACC championship berth. The Clemson Tigers will now get to face off against Notre Dame on December 19th in Charlotte.

This will be a rematch of the classic game played earlier in the season between these two teams. Clemson will be out for revenge as the Irish were the lone team to beat the Tigers this year.

Here are three takeaways from this ACC matchup.
