Clemson Football: 3 takeaways from blowout win over Virginia Tech
3- Khalil Herbert will play in NFL
The Virginia Tech running back has a future in the NFL. Khalil Herbert rushed for 96 yards on 21 carries against Clemson. This season the graduate transfer has rushed for 924 yards, and also has six touchdowns.
Herbert came to Virginia Tech after spending his last four years at the University of Kansas. He redshirted his senior year at Kansas to preserve a year of eligibility before taking his talents to Virginia Tech. The Virginia Tech football program sure did get a good one in Herbert.
Herbert may not be the quickest, or the biggest running back in the country, but he has great vision and the ability to make cuts to make the defenders miss in space.
Herbert suffered an injury against Liberty earlier in the season, but finally looks like he is fully healthy. I’m not saying that Herbert will be a top draft pick. But someone will get a great value pick on either day two, or day three of the NFL Draft when they select Khalil Herbert.
