College Football Playoff: 3 Biggest Surprises from Week 15 rankings
The third releasing of the College Football Playoff rankings came with the same results in a lot of the key areas but there were some surprising selections in the new top 25.
The top six of the College Football Playoff rankings stayed the same with the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, the No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, No. 3 Clemson Tigers, and the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes grabbing the top four spots. No. 5 Texas A&M Aggies and the No. 6 Florida Gators followed the top four much like most of the season.
The most significant part of the rankings is the downfall of the BYU Cougars five spots to the No.18 spot. The biggest plunge of the new CFB Playoff rankings is the Oklahoma State Cowboys falling seven spots from the 15th ranked spot to 22nd.
This comes after their tough 29-22 road trip loss to the TCU Horned Frogs. This ranks as their lowest dip in the rankings compared to their 41-34 overtime loss at home to unranked Texas and their 41-13 thrashing by the Oklahoma Sooners.
While these moves were surprising by the College Football Playoff Committee, there are several more surprises in the new College Football Playoff rankings and here are the three biggest.
