Nebraska Football: 3 Bold Predictions for Huskers vs Minnesota
Adrian Martinez throws for 300
To put it simply, Minnesota’s pass defense isn’t good. The Gophers made former Michigan starter Joe Milton look like a superstar and through five games, they are allowing 240 passing yards per game.
Opposing passers are completing nearly 65 percent of their passes and they are giving up nearly two touchdown passes per game.
And make no mistake, the Nebraska football offense has started the click the past few weeks. With Dedrick Mills back at running back, the ground game was effective, especially with Martinez also being a threat and that has also allowed Wan’Dale Robinson to essentially play more at receiver. He went over 100 yards against Purdue and is an explosive play waiting to happen.
Zavier Betts has also emerged the last couple of weeks as a big target. It’s important for these guys to develop and for Martinez, he has a chance to re-establish himself as the starter.
McKenzie Milton is out there in the transfer portal and there are a lot of questions about Martinez and the Huskers going forward. He can answer them with another win this week and if he can lead Nebraska on a winning streak, he would solidify his spot going forward in the starting lineup.
