2. Arizona State will have an elite 1-2 backfield combo in 2021

When Eno Benjamin left after the 2019 season, there was some worry that the run game would take a step back. He was one of the best running backs at Arizona State in years and replacing him wouldn’t be simple.

Those concerns have subsided and it seems like the future of the Arizona State backfield is brighter than ever with DeaMonte Trayanum and Rachaad White both coming back.

Well, that’s the assumption.

Barring some unforeseen departure, Trayanum and White will both be back next year and they will be one of the most elite duos in the country. They were a nightmare combo for the Arizona defense on Friday night, combining for 174 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries.

Sure, Trayanum had only 41 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, but the freshman sensation finished his first year with over 230 yards and looks like the next star in the backfield. White, a JUCO transfer, finished with over 260 yards and three touchdowns — all three came on Friday against the Wildcats. They’ll combine to cause problems for the rest of the Pac-12 next year.

I’d be shocked if both aren’t 1,000-yard rushers in 2021.
