It is looking to be not only a special, memorable, and amazing season for Coastal Carolina but a historical one as well for their football program.
Not only has the Sun Belt schedule for the Chanticleers been challenging and difficult as Coastal Carolina has remained undefeated, but them defeating a Big 12 team and especially BYU is impressive, to say the least. If the Chanticleers can defeat the Trojans on the road, which will be no absolute guarantee, it is not only likely that they can qualify for one of the New Year’s Six spots but even be mentioned for a possible playoff berth.
Some things would have to happen for that to be a reality as Coastal Carolina would also need Cincinnati to lose a game as they are not the only undefeated team in the Group of Five that is ranked.
Based on common opponents, their huge win over BYU, and the ability of the Chanticleers to perform very well on the road, Coastal Carolina’s defense should fare well against the Troy offense. And the Chanticleers should be able to score 40 plus points to secure another double-digit conference victory.
This game may not end in a blowout and Coastal Carolina can not look ahead to their following week’s matchup against Louisiana in the Sun Belt title game. However, the Chanticleers will remain undefeated for their 11th win of the season.
Final Score: Coastal Carolina 41, Troy 21
