Devonta Smith proved on Saturday he’s the best in the country

Smith dazzled the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday with his 84 yard punt return. What made that play more impressive was the fact that it ignited the Crimson Tide. Alabama football could not find the end zone on its first two drives of the day.

After Devonta Smith scored on the punt return, the Tide proceeded to score touchdowns on their next five drives.

Smith wasn’t needed much in the passing game today, catching three of his four targets for 22 yards. But, he’s proven what he can do from a receiving standpoint all season, amassing 80 catches, 1305 yards, and 15 touchdowns on the season entering Saturday’s game.

His punt return against Arkansas only continued to solidify his place among the nation’s elite regardless of position.

If the Heisman trophy truly represents the most outstanding player in college football, then Devonta Smith should win the award by a landslide. Now while Devonta’s Heisman stock rose on Saturday, his teammate Mac Jones’ stock plummeted.
