After a slow start in the first half, Georgia football got rolling against Missouri and remain on track for a New Year’s Six bowl game.
After a shaky first half in which mistakes were made on special teams and the offensive line could not protect JT Daniels, the offense and defense got rolling and Georgia football went on the road to Columbia and got a victory over Missouri.
This was Georgia’s first game in a couple of weeks, with their game against Vanderbilt last week moved to next Saturday. Georgia now moves to 3-0 with Daniels as the starting quarterback and the offense continues to look much more explosive than they have all season.
Missouri came into this game on a three game winning streak and was feeling confident after moving into the top 25 of the College Football Playoff rankings this week and there were some that thought that the Tigers were in prime position to pull the upset in Columbia on Saturday.
It looked like that might be a possibility as the first half was winding down, with the score tied up at 14-14, after Missouri converted a blocked punt into a touchdown. Daniels found star receiver George Pickens for a big touchdown before halftime to make the game 21-14 and Georgia took back the momentum. Georgia’s offensive line could not protect Daniels in the first half, but they did a much better job after halftime
The second half, it was all Bulldogs. The running game took over and Zamir White had another 100 yard game and looked explosive running the football. Georgia’s depth at receiver and running back was on full display in the second half.
The Dawgs look to close the season out next week vs Vanderbilt and lock up a spot in a New Year’s Six game.
Here are the three takeaways from Georgia’s win over Missouri on Saturday.
