2. Coastal Carolina deserves a NY6 bowl

We learned on Saturday that Coastal Carolina could be in play for a New Year’s Six bowl bid. Yes, I know that Cincinnati is ranked higher than Coastal and only the highest ranked Group of Five team will make the New Year’s Six but in my mind, Coastal Carolina should be in discussion for that opportunity as well.

With their narrow 42-38 victory against Troy on the road Saturday, Coastal Carolina finished the season a perfect 11-0.

The Sun Belt title game will be played next week against Louisiana, in a rematch from earlier this season. If Coastal is able to beat the 17th ranked Ragin’ Cajuns again look for them to sneak into a New Year’s Six bowl.

Their resume is too strong to over look at this point with wins over BYU, Louisiana and Big 12 foe Kansas. If not, I except Coastal to play in the Myrtle Beach Bowl at home to end their historic 2020 season.
