1. Jimbo Fisher has a big smile down in College Station

The final thing we learned on Saturday is that Texas A&M will probably be in the CFP. Now, anything can happen in college football so I preface my statement with that. But, the likely scenario to conference championship week will be Ohio State winning the Big Ten title, Alabama winning the SEC and Notre Dame defeating Clemson for the ACC title.

In that scenario Texas A&M would be in the playoff.

However, Clemson could easily defeat Notre Dame which would make the CFP committee have to choose between a one-loss Notre Dame and a one-loss Texas A&M team. In this scenario I expect the committee to choose Texas A&M because they would not want the possibility of Notre Dame and Clemson playing for a third time.

Everything so far this season has played into Jimbo Fisher’s hands and now he might get another shot at the Crimson Tide.
