Notre Dame football signed one of the best classes in the early period on Wednesday. Which 2021 class early signees will have instant impacts?

Brian Kelly is on the verge of signing a top-10 class in the country after the opening day of the early signing period, inking 24 commits while Logan Diggs is the only one remaining unsigned.

The momentum the Irish have in the recruiting landscape is immeasurable as they signed the No. 18 recruiting class for 2020 and have gotten even better this time around. On top of that, Notre Dame is No. 7 in the 2022 recruiting class.

With 24 guys signed, the Irish will be looking at a number of guys who could not just enroll early (there will be plenty of those) but prospects who’ll have an immediate impact in 2021.

Let’s take a look at a few 2021 early signees who’ll have an immediate impact for the Irish.

The receiver position was supposed to be a strength heading into the season but Notre Dame has suffered some injuries and the depth has had to step up. But Javon McKinley, Jafar Armstrong, Avery Davis and Ben Skowronek are gone after this season. On top of that, Joe Wilkins, Braden Lenzy, Lawrence Keys III, Micah Jones and Kevin Austin Jr. will be seniors.

What does that mean? Guys like Deion Colzie, Lorenzo Styles Jr. and Jayden Thomas will get their opportunities early on.

Jordan Johnson might be the next star in the receiving corps and he could couple with Braden Lenzy to make a dynamic duo, but don’t count out Colzie who stands 6-foot-4 and almost 200 pounds from Georgia. He looks the part of a star at the next level and he has the frame and resume to back it up.

Colzie is ranked the No. 98 prospect and 16th-best receiver in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports, and held offers from just about every major program. He should see the field early on.
