Nebraska football will close out its regular season Friday night against Rutgers and here are three bold predictions for the Huskers.

The Nebraska football team has least one more game in the 2020 season and it will take place tonight against Rutgers in a crossover game during the Big Ten’s champions week.

Overall, it’s been a disappointing season for Nebraska football as the Huskers are just 2-5 and actually have fewer wins coming into this game than Rutgers, which won at Maryland last week for its third of the season.

If not for a 17-point comeback by Michigan, the Scarlet Knights would be 4-4 right now and there’s no doubt that Greg Schiano has this program headed in the right direction, which goes to show what the right coach in the right place can do.

Nebraska fans might be wondering why it’s taking Scott Frost so long to show the same progress that Schiano has made? It’s a fair question, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves and here are three bold predictions for Nebraska football vs Rutgers.

Nebraska torments its former QB

One of the reasons Rutgers has played well this season is quarterback Noah Vedral, who was actually a backup for the Huskers. He transferred to Rutgers and even though he hasn’t been great (9 touchdown passes, 8 interceptions), he’s at least given the Scarlet Knights something. He was hurt last week and may not be able to go, but even without him, Artur Sitkowski has been solid in relief.

Running back Isaih Pacheco and receiver Bo Melton can both play and the Scarlet Knights will move the football and score some points on Nebraska but the defense, which has done a better job in recent weeks, will pressure the quarterback and force a couple of turnovers, whoever starts.
