2. Peach Bowl

Cincinnati hasn’t done anything fancy this season, the Bearcats have simply put together an extremely balanced offense, one that averages over 240 yards a game on the ground and through the air, as well as putting together one of the best defenses in college football.

The Bearcats capped their perfect season with a win in the American Conference Championship game Saturday night, but instead of a shot at a national title, they will settle for the consolation prize of taking on Georgia in the Peach Bowl.

Obviously, it’s still a huge game for the Bearcats and it should serve nicely as a table-setter for the College Football Playoff games on New Year’s Day. It will also give Cincinnati a chance a chance to win its first major bowl game.

Cincinnati went to the Sugar and Orange Bowls under Brian Kelly but lost both times and if the Bearcats would knock off the Bulldogs, they would gain a huge step towards gaining some actual respect as a power program. It would also be among the biggest wins in program history.

That’s why this game is worth watching. Plus, it’s always fun to see the group of five teams go for an undefeated season against an elite foe, which Georgia still is after a 7-2 season.

Cincinnati should have a point to prove and this game will also be a measure of how Luke Fickell can handle coaching against SEC teams as he will likely be moving on, as Kelly once did, before long.
