Bowl season has arrived and Tuesday night, the UCF football team will battle BYU in the Boca Raton Bowl and here are three bold predictions for the Knights.

If you missed it, bowl season already started on Monday and on Tuesday, things will ramp up even more with the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and of course, the Boca Raton Bowl between UCF football and BYU.

BYU was one of the darlings of this 2020 college football season and the Cougars put together a 10-1 record and made a strong run at a New Year’s Six Bowl before Coastal Carolina ended the Cougars perfect season.

For UCF football, it was a season of what ifs? The Knights opened the year ranked in the top 25 and finished with a 6-3 mark. However, all three of its losses were by a combined 12 points, so a few plays here or there could have made all the difference.

Still, UCF football has become a pretty well-known Group of Five program and out of all the Non-NY6 games, this is one of the best and certainly the best game until Dec. 26 when Coastal Carolina and Liberty will meet in the Cure Bowl.

So whether you are a fan of the Knights or the Cougars or not, it will be more than worth your time to watch the Boca Raton Bowl and here are three bold predictions for UCF.

UCF football forces two turnovers

During the regular season, Central Florida was one of the best teams in college football at forcing turnovers with 22 takeaways in just nine games, including nine interceptions.

BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, who many believe will be a first-round pick in the NFL draft, has only thrown three interceptions this season. But he also hasn’t a played a defense quite as aggressive as the Knights, who also had 23 sacks this season.

It’s pretty impressive to recover almost 1.5 fumbles per game and against the Cougars, UCF will get at least one fumble and my bet is that the Knights find a way to pressure Wilson into one interception, even though the QB still puts up huge numbers.
