Who wins?

A lot of times, bowl games are about motivation and the team that wants to be there ends up winning. In this instance, I think that’s going to be hard to decipher because both teams have plenty for play for.

BYU is gunning for an 11-win season and seeing that the Cougars are 13th in the AP poll right now, a win could push them into the final top 10 for the first time since 1996. It would also be BYU’s first 11-win season since 2009.

On the other hand, UCF football should have plenty of motivation in its own right. This season didn’t go as expected but a win over 13th-ranked BYU would be the perfect cherry on top. It wouldn’t be a conference title, but it would be a significant win and one that could even propel the Knights into the final top 25 at 7-3.

In each of UCF’s big games this season against Tulsa, Memphis and Cincinnati, it just wasn’t able to get the job done in the end. Tuesday night, the Knights will get that sour taste out of their mouth as they upset BYU and end the season on a high note.

It’s going to be high scoring and there could be 70-80 points on the board when it’s all over, but UCF football finds a way in the Boca Raton Bowl.
