Takeaways for the UTSA Roadrunners
The Roadrunners showed a lot of grit today having 20 players and coaches out due to COVID-19. Head coach Jeff Traylor was one of the staff members out due to coronavirus. Offensive coordinator Barry Lunney, Jr. was acting head coach for the game. This was the second bowl game in school history.
The Roadrunners return lots of talent next season, including quarterback Frank Harris and running back Sincere McCormick. That one-two punch will have the Roadrunners contending in Conference USA next season.
Takeaways for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns
For the Cajuns, this is consecutive double-digit wins seasons for the first time in school history. The Sun Belt co-champions will finish the season ranked for the first time in school history as well. Quarterback Levi Lewis has stated that he will use the COVID exemption and return to Lafayette for another season with the Cajuns.
The most important return for the Cajuns is head coach Billy Napier. The former assistant for Alabama and Clemson spurned South Carolina and Auburn to return to the Cajuns.
