Texas A&M football signed the No. 7 recruiting class, at least so far, and Jimbo Fisher has some guys who can compete right away.

Jimbo Fisher has done it again. He has signed an impressive recruiting class at Texas A&M and no one can say he hasn’t won the SEC title due to a lack of talent.

In fact, with the early signing period in the rearview mirror, the Aggies currently have the No. 7 recruiting class in the country which is good for fourth in the SEC. Last year, Fisher signed the No. 6 recruiting class in college football and it looks like the Aggies may not be done yet.

Texas A&M signed 19 of its 20 commits in the class with Dametrious Crownover the only prospect who remains unsigned in the class for the Aggies.

Which Aggie signees could compete for playing time immediately?

Carson Green and Dan Moore Jr. are both leaving after this season and that means a guy like Reuben Fatheree will have a chance to come in and push guys like Chris Morris and Blake Trainor for the starting job. The Aggies have plenty of talent to replace the two starters but Fatheree is a top-100 recruit who expects to come right in and compete.

Fatheree is a four-star offensive tackle from Richmond, Texas, who’s ranked the No. 87 prospect and 13th-best offensive tackle in the 2021 class, according to the composite.

The incoming freshman and early signee stands 6-foot-8 and weighs in at 305 pounds so size won’t be an issue as he’s a mountain of a man who will have no problem adjusting from day one. He may have to adjust to the speed of the game, but he has the size and strength.

Fatheree picked Texas A&M over two dozen-plus other offers including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas and USC, among others. This elite lineman should play right away.
