With star running back Chuba Hubbard opting out for the Cowboys two weeks ago, Oklahoma State will need another playmaker to drive the ball down the field. The Cowboys will have still have their other star player in wide receiver Tylan Wallace leading the offense. Wallace has been one of the most consistent receivers in the nation.

In nine games this season, Wallace has caught 53 passes for 872 yards (for an average of 16.5 yards per reception) and six touchdowns. He has speed and reliability to catch highly-contested passes against aggressive defensive backs. He can also run crisp routes. Through three seasons with Oklahoma State, Wallace has caught 199 passes for 3,384 yards and 26 touchdowns as he continues to improve his stock for the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Cowboys have been flipping back-and-forth between starting quarterbacks due to injuries or inconsistencies to sophomore Spencer Sanders and true freshman Shane Illingworth. Wallace has been the consistent playmaker for the Cowboys in the passing game overall.

The Cowboys will be facing the 49th ranked passing defense (206.6 passing yards allowed per game) in the nation. Oklahoma State will be able to keep the pocket clean due to the lack of efficient pass rushers from Miami thus giving them a more capable opportunity to deliver passes to Wallace. He is a player that gets open consistently against this Hurricanes’ defense that has accounted for 35 pass breakups this season.
