The Texas football program is seeking its fourth straight bowl win on Tuesday against Colorado and here are three bold predictions for the Longhorns.

Going into the 2020 season, Texas football certainly had bigger aspirations than a return trip to the Alamo Bowl, but some disappointing losses, especially to Oklahoma, doomed the Longhorns.

If you want to talk about frustrating seasons, maybe no one has more reason to be frustrated than Texas football when looking back at 2020.

The Horns come into the Alamo Bowl at 6-3, but their three losses came by a combined 12 points and their biggest defeat was an 8-point loss to Oklahoma in double overtime. Texas football also fell to TCU by two points and Iowa State by three.

Even if Texas football loses to OU but wins the other two games, it is playing for the Big 12 championship and not getting that chance in Sam Ehlinger‘s senior season was disappointing.

But since it will likely be the gunslinger’s final time in a Texas uniform, we begin our three predictions for the Alamo Bowl with him.

Ehlinger ends career in style

Over the past four weeks, Ehlinger has really played well and hasn’t thrown an interception compared to eight touchdown passes. He threw for 274 yards and two scores against Kansas State and unless he decides to come back and use that extra year of eligibility, his career will be over.

But in a bowl game in Texas, you can expect Ehlinger to have one of his finest outings and I think he will throw for 300 yards and account for at least three touchdowns for Texas on Tuesday.
