Alabama football is coming into this game as heavy favorite in the 2021 Rose Bowl over Notre Dame. Here’s why the Tide will win.

The last time the Rose Bowl was the host for a College Football Playoff semifinal matchup was a thriller in 2018. This was when No. 3 Georgia beat No. 2 Oklahoma, led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Baker Mayfield, in double overtime.

After a difficult decision by the state of California of not allowing fans in the stands of sporting events, the game was moved to Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Alabama has a great track record of playing in AT&T Stadium as they are 4-0.

The Fighting Irish have a 5-2 overall record versus the Tide, but it was Alabama that got the victory in the last time they met. The Tide dominated the Irish in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game with 42-14. This was a huge game for the offense with huge performances from A.J. McCarron, Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon and wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Fast forward eight years, the Tide have one of the most dominant offenses in the nation. The Tide have two Heisman Trophy finalists in DeVonta Smith and Mac Jones.

Alabama, along with the No. 2 Clemson Tigers (10-1), is going into the 2021 College Football Playoff as a perennial elite team.

Alabama comes into this game as the 19.5-point favorite over the Fighting Irish.
