The College Football Playoff is finally here. Clemson football and Ohio State are set for the Sugar Bowl and here are three bold predictions for the Tigers.

The Clemson football team is appearing in its sixth consecutive College Football Playoff after winning a sixth ACC Conference Championship game. The Buckeyes are once again in the playoff after winning their fourth consecutive Big Ten Conference title.

The 2021 Allstate Sugar Bowl will be a battle between two highly established football programs. They will be led by two high-caliber quarterbacks in their last potential postseasons in the sport of college football. Clemson football quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields have the potential to be selected first and second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Tigers and the Buckeyes have met four times since 1978 with Clemson grabbing all four wins. They have met twice previously in the CFB Semi-Finals with the last matchup being a 29-23 win for Clemson over the Buckeyes in the 2019 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.

The last time the Tigers played in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, they were defeated 24-6 in the 2016 Semi-Final matchup against the eventual National Champions in the Alabama Crimson Tide. Clemson is looking for a rebound in the Sugar Bowl against a team they are familiar with defeating in the Buckeyes.

Clemson is coming into this game as a 7.5-point favorite over Ohio State although they are going to take every precaution to ensure they get the victory on New Year’s Day. Here are three bold predictions for the Clemson Tigers.
