The College Football Playoff is now just hours away and here are final predictions for the Rose and Sugar Bowls which are serving as national semifinals.

The one good thing about the 2020 College Football season, is that due to the truncation of it, we didn’t have that normally long wait between the end of the conference title games and bowl games. And now, we have finally arrived at the day of the College Football Playoff.

Alabama and Notre Dame will start things off in the “Rose Bowl” which is being played in Texas this year in Arlington Stadium.

The Crimson Tide are fresh off a 52-46 win over Florida in the SEC title game, which gave Alabama a fifth conference title in the past seven years.

It’s been since the 2017-18 season when Alabama last won the College Football Playoff and the national championship and actually, the Tide and the Clemson Tigers alternated titles for four years until LSU beat Clemson in the chipper last year.

With LSU obviously not in it, we will crown a new champion and in the Sugar Bowl between Ohio State and Clemson, we have a rematch from last year’s playoff classic.

Among the four teams, there are three of the top quarterbacks in college football in Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones and Justin Fields. Ian Book also is pretty good.

The talent across the board is impressive, even for Notre Dame, which is the team most believe don’t belong on the same level as the other three. We’ll see if that proves to be true or not and here we go with bold predictions for the College Football Playoff.
