3. UGA defense won the game

All eyes were going to be on Georgia’s new look offense and the passing attack that dominated the last few games of the 2020 season going against a great Bearcats secondary, but the difference in the game was the Bulldogs defense, particularly the pass rush.

Georgia football’s front seven took over in the second half and it was getting constant pressure on Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder.

After allowing a long touchdown run at the start of the second half, the Dawgs tightened up on defense and completely erased the Cincinnati offense.

This unit was missing star cornerback Eric Stokes, but Tyrique Stevenson and Tyson Campbell played great, as did the Georgia linebackers. It was fitting that this unit won the game after being the headliner at the start of the season.
