Alabama football lost another offensive coordinator as Steve Sarkisian took the head job at Texas, but here are three perfect candidates to replace him.

It was a great week for Alabama football in the sense that it advanced to national championship game, but soon after, the Crimson Tide found out they would be losing their offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian to Texas.

Some wondered if Sarkisian was going to stay in Tuscaloosa to be the head coach in waiting, yet that hasn’t really worked out and getting the chance to lead a power program is hard to pass up.

And truth be told, head coach Nick Saban hasn’t had much issue finding offensive coordinators. In fact, it’s been the perfect breeding ground for head coaches — both for those looking to revamp their careers and also make a name for themselves.

Lane Kiffin was the wonder kid coordinator, then he left and Mike Locksley did a solid job, who then went to Maryland as the head coach, which led to Sark the past two years, who rebuilt his image after a failed stint and some trouble at USC.

Of all the big fish out there, Sarkisian was one of the biggest, simply due to his connection to Saban and after the likes of Urban Meyer, he was the next target for the Longhorns.

Sarkisian is going to coach the national title game and if Alabama football hires the right replacement, it shouldn’t hurt the Crimson Tide much and here are the three ideal candidates for the job.
