3. Jim Harbaugh

Harbaugh has made the jump from college to the NFL before when he left Stanford to become the coach of the San Francisco 49ers and did so successfully, going to the NFC championship game his first three seasons and a super bowl appearance in 2012.

Harbaugh then returned to his alma mater and has not met the expectations that he set for himself when he arrived.

Despite winning 10 games his first season and a near playoff birth in year two, Harbaugh has been unable to find success in Ann Arbor and that is largely due to his inability to find and develop a quarterback, which was supposed to be one of his calling cards due to his development of Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick while in San Francisco.

Harbaugh has been rumored to possibly be signing an extension with Michigan, but he could be looking to return to the NFL and leave the high pressure at Michigan
