Herman offers a chance at elite coach

Things have been good with the Boise State football program since Chris Petersen left but the Broncos have fallen off a bit.

As we said, they have only won three of the last seven Mountain West conference titles and have played in just one major bowl game since Petersen departed for Washington and that was back in 2014, so it’s been a while.

Could Herman be the guy to turn the Broncos back into the best non-Power 5 program in the country? He sure did a great job at Houston and took the Cougars to the Peach Bowl.

That makes it two different places where he has won a major bowl game. He’s also attractive for many of the same reasons Moore was — he’s a bright offensive mind and he would be able to recruit really well.

I think a big key here is whether or not he wants to coach next season or beyond, but why not be a head coach instead of a coordinator somewhere?
