Marshall Football: 5 candidates to replace Doc Holliday as head coach
2. West Virginia Offensive Coordinator Gerad Parker
Gerad Parker is currently the offensive coordinator for West Virginia and is a former Marshall assistant.
Parker coached the wide receivers at Marshall from 2011-2012 and has made several other stops at places like Purdue, where Parker coached the wide receivers and tight ends while also serving as the recruiting coordinator.
The Thundering Herd alum was the running backs coach at Purdue for one season, then left to become the wide receivers coach at Duke and then took the same position at Penn State before leaving for West Virginia.
Parker has recruited around the area and has helped Neal Brown get off to a solid start at West Virginia. After bouncing around as a position coach at several power five schools, Parker appears ready to take that next step and become a head coach.
