Alabama football looks to win its third national championship in the College Football Playoff era and three keys as to how they can do it.

Just a week ago, the national championship game seemed like a Alabama-Clemson rematch. Trevor Lawrence attempting to cement his legacy as the best Clemson player of All-Time. The storied rivalries part four, with three of the four Heisman finalists.

Instead, Ohio State played spoiler alert and smashed the Tigers. The consistent criticism from the Buckeyes has been the lack of games played and how they were not tested yet. Ohio State passed that test with flying colors with a 49-28 win.

Fields had more touchdowns than incompletions and Trey Sermon rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown. The defense was not fantastic as they gave up 400 yards to Lawrence. However, the Buckeyes needed just enough offense to beat Clemson and they did more than that.

For Alabama football however, the consensus was that the Tide would handle Notre Dame rather easily. That came true as Alabama handled the Irish rather easily, 31-14.

Devonta Smith cemented his Heisman with a 130 yard, three touchdown performance. Alabama would not let Notre Dame beat them downfield and shut down the Irish running game.

Kyren Williams had a career day rushing against Clemson early in the season. Williams could not sustain that success against Alabama with just 64 yards on 16 carries.

The Crimson Tide dominate both ways and do it in different ways. Offensively, the Crimson Tide has abused with speed and smarter players. Defensively, they have better athletes that play faster than the other team roughly 95 percent of the time.

Ohio State has some athletes that can match the Crimson Tide. However, if they can do it for 60 minutes will be the ultimate question.

Here are the reasons Alabama will beat Ohio State for the national championship.
