Ohio State football will look to win the national championship for the first time since 2014 and here are three bold predictions vs Alabama.

At long last, the national championship game between Ohio State football and Alabama is just a day away. Monday night, the two teams will meet in Miami in the final game of the college football season.

The Buckeyes will be looking to win their first championship since 2014, which came after a playoff run that included a win over Alabama and a title game victory over Oregon.

While this is Ohio State football’s second trip to the championship game, it’s the fifth in sixth years for Alabama, which is looking for its first national championship since 2017.

Both teams won impressively in the semifinals as Ohio State silenced a lot of doubters with 49-28 blowout of Clemson that featured over 600 yards of total offense for Ohio State.

What will the Buckeyes do for an encore? Will they upset Alabama just as they did the last time to the two teams met? Here are three bold predictions for the national championship game.

Justin Fields will play and play well

Justin Fields played stellar in the Sugar Bowl against Clemson and tossed six touchdown passes. Alabama’s defense has been susceptible to allowing quarterbacks to play well against it (see Kyle Trask) and even though Fields got a little banged up against Clemson, all signs are that he will go.

If Fields had played the way he did last Saturday the entire season, he could have been the Heisman Trophy winner, although it would have been hard in limited games.

Trey Sermon might be the real key to Ohio State winning this game, but Fields has the physical tools and running ability to make Bama pay and he will account for 300 total yards and multiple touchdowns.
