2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections after national championship
Now that the College Football Playoff National Championship is in the books, let’s take a stab at the latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft projections.
Alabama has won the national title and that means it’s officially the offseason in college football. What that also means is that the country’s brightest stars are gearing up for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Although this year was dominated by COVID-19, we were able to crown a champion and the NFL has seemingly gotten its season off without a hitch.
Now, let’s take a look at how the NFL draft might shake out this spring.
NFL draft order is not yet determined with NFL playoffs currently taking place, but this order is based off Bleacher Report’s latest projection.
Although Gardner Minshew has shown flashes and Jake Luton was just drafted last year, there’s a need for a franchise quarterback in Jacksonville.
Minshew might have a solid future in the NFL, especially after passing for 2,259 yards and 16 touchdowns with five interceptions while completing 66 percent of his passes, the Jaguars just can’t pass up an opportunity to draft who many believe is the best quarterback prospect of the past decade.
Trevor Lawrence is undoubtedly the top NFL prospect in this year’s draft class and Jacksonville is pretty much guaranteed to take him No. 1.
How could they not? He had 10,098 passing yards, 90 touchdowns and just 17 interceptions in three years with Clemson. He also showcased his accuracy with a 66 percent completion rate, ending his career with a 69 percent completion rate in 2020.
Urban Meyer and Lawrence are a match made in heaven. This kid is going to start from day one.
