After a great finish to the season, Georgia football enters the 2021 season with momentum and dreams of returning to the College Football Playoff.

Georgia is entering the offseason with a ton of momentum after a hot finish to the season. The Bulldogs appear to have found their quarterback in JT Daniels and their receiving corps is loaded with explosive playmakers to stretch the field.

Throw in talented and experience in the backfield, then you have one of the best offenses in the country and a team that should be a challenger for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The offense will get the headlines and deservedly so. Along with Daniels returning, Georgia returns Zamir White, James Cook, Kenny McIntosh and Kendall Milton in the backfield. The receiving corps will include George Pickens, Jermaine Burton and Kearis Jackson on the outside, with matchup nightmare Darnell Washington at tight end.

The offensive line is the biggest question mark on the offense, but Georgia has recruited exceptionally well at the position and should be able to plug and play guys.

Georgia finished with the top-ranked defense according to ESPN’s Bill Connelly, but the Dawgs will have to replace several of their top players on the unit, especially in the secondary. UGA got a big boost when nose tackle Jordan Davis announced that he was returning for another season and he should be the undisputed leader for the defense.

The secondary was the hardest hit position on defense, with the losses of Eric Stokes, Tyson Campbell and Richard LeCounte to the NFL and former five star recruit Tyrique Stevenson deciding to transfer to Miami. Don’t expect a huge drop-off on defense though. Kirby Smart is one of the best defensive coaches in the country and will get the unit ready to go.

Georgia opens the season in Charlotte with a huge matchup versus Clemson that could set the tone for the entire season. Here is how I project their two-deep depth chart to look on opening day.
